What is the most needed language translator in the USA?

Believe it would be one of the ones that's needed for our stuff in the Middle East but I don't remember which language it was.|||Maybe Urdu!|||English. Definitely.|||The King's English translator.

Does anyone know of a good electronic Japanese language translator/dictionary?

My friend is being stationed in Japan and I am looking for a good pocket dictionary and also for an electronic translator that will be helpful. Any suggestions?|||There is no particularly good translation software for Japanese, and for most east asian languages for that matter. For an electronic dictionary, there are a number of handheld types that I unfortunately cannot comment on. For the computer though, I find JWPce to be indispensable. You can attach multiple dictionary files and quickly search through them. Additionally, it makes it easy to find unknown kanji via various lookup techniques, and is a text editor to boot.

Anyone know of a language translator that tells you how to say what you type or says it for you?

I need to know how to say a few things in Spanish, Italian, and French by 5:00 tonight, and i know how to get to translators but i have no idea how to say anything. So does anyone know of a translator that has a voice recording that says the stuff for you?

Sorry if this question is confusing but i would really appreciate help!

Thanks in advance.|||This is actually a sort of complicated question.

First of all, I'm sure you've heard that translators are not accurate. Even paid, experienced human translators have difficulty translating some things exactly, but they can get around problems in ways that programmed algorithms can't.

If it's truly just a few things, if you post them onto here, people can tell you how to pronounce it - for example, "Tu as faim?" = To ah fam

There are some online dictionaries that say words for you. There are some on about.com, but you have to go to the language specific sites. For example, french.about.com. You can also search "audio dictionary" plus the language on google.|||Nope, online translators DO NOT work. They spit out garbage that is almost never correct.

Why don't you ask a question on here asking how to say/pronounce something and have a reliable speaker or even a native tell you how. That's really the best way.

What type of schooling is required to be an American Sign Language Translator?

Any recommended college classes? I'm in the process of learning Sign Language and my college counselors have been particularly useless in this department. If someone with experience could help me out, i'd really appreciate it =)|||The amount and type of schooling you need depends on what state you live in. In Ohio, where I live, the law just changed. We are required to have a bachelors degree. We also have to have taken an Interpreter Training Program (ITP) and we have to take a test to qualify as a legal interpreter. The best thing to do, in my opinion, is to contact the local chapter of Interpreters for the Deaf. Do a yahoo search on Registered interpreters for the deaf. Once you're at their national site, you can click on your state to get a link to their page. Once their, I would contact the president and ask them what the requirements are for your state and what colleges they recommend. You may have to attend a college out of state to finish your degree. Good luck!|||you don't mention what college you are at, but try to do the best you can and find a school with better interpreting program. I am at Gallaudet.
